VIRCS PopUp Gift Shop Fundraiser | November 14 – 21st, 2015:
Victoria Immigrant and Refugee Centre is arranging a week long gift shop selling beautiful curios and
handmade art items from southeast Asia. All funds (100%) of proceeds will go towards helping
refugees. The shop will have lots of information about how to sponsor and support refugees

City of Vancouver & Medical Aid For Syria Event | November 18th, 2015:
As part of the on going Medical Project, the Not Just Tourists (NJT) in collaboration with the City of Vancouver is organizing an event to collect highly needed medical donations for Syrian people. You can drop off medical donation on Saturday Nov 28th (from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm) at VANCOUVER CITY HALL (Parking lot) (address: 453 West 12th Avenue, Vancouver). Refugee Cultural Orientation:
We have received requests asking about cultural sensitivities when dealing with newly arriving Syrian refugees. This is a very important topic that needs to be addressed. ActionForSyria will be starting a series to address some of the cultural aspects we need to keep in mind when interacting with newly arriving comers.
